7000 aquatic plants will go in here

After a week of horizontal recuperation, I’m finally getting back to a swivel seat: this one in the office, and hopefully, the other one out in the garage. But with the rain in the immediate forecast, I think I’ll sit out a few more days until my throat is no longer the color of my boat.

I did want to mention a couple of things coming up. One, a large group of volunteers (me included) will be planting aquatic vegetation in the wetlands area, south of the dike on Saturday, April 28. While there is no immediate impact on the main lake, it will enhance the whole environment there and could begin to improve water quality as well.

Of course, it will be completely dry when we go into this protected area (we’ll be shuttled) and with enough hands we can get the 7000 plants in place in half a day. If you have any interest in joining us, shoot me an email with your mailing address and I will send you a release form from the City of Lake Elsinore.

Of course, we have been waiting to hear more about the bass stocking at the lake and I can now tell you that it is set for Wednesday, April 4. Not that we’re all gonna rush out there like the trout guys on hatchery day, but it will be fun to see what impact those fish will have throughout the spring.
